The Augusta-Richmond County Public Library System has partnered with the Augusta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office, the Richmond County Solicitor General’s Office, the Burke County Solicitor General’s Office, and the Georgia Justice Project for the launch of the Augusta Second Chance Desk, a criminal record expungement program. Attorneys will be present at the Augusta Public Library to provide free consultations and assistance with submitting applications and motions to restrict and seal (expunge) eligible arrests. Downtown Augusta
Make plans to attend the 2023 Augusta Christmas Parade, held in Downtown Augusta on December 9, 2023, from 1pm-3pm. Due to construction on Broad Street, the parade will move from Broad Street to Greene and Telfair Streets. It will start at 10th and Greene Streets, take a right on 7th, then a right on Telfair Street before ending at Telfair Street and 10th Street. The best viewing spot will be on the 7th Street near the Woodrow Wilson House.
Augusta Common
Augusta, Georgia, is bringing in the holidays with a Christmas Light-Up Spectacular and Tree Lighting event. Activities include a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, fireworks show, Christmas Tree lighting, a train ride, the WBBQ Kids Christmas Village with crafts, and the Mayor’s Christmas Card Contest. Entertainment will be provided by the Richmond County School System's elementary, middle, and high school students.
