How do I get a plat approved?
All plats recorded in Augusta must be approved and signed by Planning and Development. Please bring a minimum of three original copies of the plat to Planning and Development. Staff will review the plat to see if it is possible to approve it for you while you wait. Once a plat is approved and signed it must be taken to the Real Estate Records Division of the Clerk of Superior Court located at 735 James Brown Blvd Ste1500 for recording. There is no charge for approval of a plat for one lot. Plats subdividing land into multiple lots may require submission of additional information, including a fee. For fees, please call the Planning and Development at (706) 821-1796. For more information see Development Information on the Planning and Development web site.
