Scheduled updates are made to the website during times of less internet traffic, between 6:00am – 9:00am for daily updates, periodically from 12:00pm – 1:00pm and 5:00pm – 6:00pm for critical updates. Routine server maintenance is performed on a monthly (typically Saturday) or as needed basis, a schedule is posted on the Online Maps Page, along with any unscheduled maintenance alerts.
Please check the home page of the City website for an alert, these are posted several days in advance of an upgrade and can potentially last several days. If there is not a notice there could be a technical problem, which IT is working to resolve, we strive to ensure the public has access to all data at all hours, contact GIS by email, or call us at (706) 821-2524. If some of the features are not working properly it can be due to a full or oversized amount of temporary internet file, history, and cookies. By going to your ‘Tools’ and ‘Internet options’ and delete ‘Temporary files, history, and cookies’ this will free up space and all the features should work. The Tax Assessors Office has not provided the information to be displayed on the website. Please contact the Chief Appraiser at (706) 821-2310 for further details.
Property transfers are recorded by the Clerk of Court’s Office as they are received from the attorney’s offices; once a log is completed it is transferred to the Tax Assessors Office to be corrected. This process can take up to a year, however; the new owner will be updated by the time tax notices are sent for the first full year of ownership. Please contact the Chief Appraiser at (706) 821-2310 for further details.
We currently have aerials available only for the following years: 2018 and 2021.
1) Submit an informal, written appeal to the GIS Manager within 10 days of receipt of notification
2) If unsatisfied with the decision of the GIS Manager, submit a formal appeal within 15 days including the $150 appeal fee
3) Item will be presented before the Commission for a final decision based on the Ordinance
