Overview

Information about current case status may be obtained directly from the Clerk of Court (706) 821-1215 or from the Office of the Solicitor General at (706) 821-1220.

Persons inquiring about the status of a case should have the following information ready when calling or inquiring in person:
  • First and last name of the defendant
  • Defendant's date of birth, if known
  • Brief description of the charge and date of the offense
  • Case number
  • Name of the court where the defendant's case is pending

Court Sessions

Unless otherwise specified by notice sent from the Clerk of Court, Office of the State Court Judges, or the Office of the Solicitor General , morning court sessions generally begin at 8:30 am and afternoon sessions begin at 1:30 pm.

All court sessions are held at the Augusta-Richmond County Judicial Center & John H. Ruffin, Jr. Courthouse, 735 James Brown Blvd. unless otherwise specified. If your case is set for trial, your presence will be needed 30 minutes before the court session is scheduled to begin.

To be sure of your court date and location, rely on the written notice sent to you. If you want to verify the information in the written notice, please call the Solicitor General's Office, (706) 821-1220.

If you have received a notice to appear for a jury trial and have a question, please contact the Jury Clerk 1 or Jury Clerk 2.

Open Records Act

Upon formal request, the office of the Solicitor General will provide any records generated by, compiled and maintained in the course of the operation of this agency to the extent of the guidelines of this office, the law enforcement guide provided by the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia and Georgia Crime Information Center.
