Augusta Regional Advanced Transportation Management System Master Plan

Plan Goals

traffic lightThe Augusta Regional Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS) Master Plan, completed in 2002, outlines a phased, 20-year plan for implementing an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) in the Augusta region.

Major ITS components include:
a sign displaying a driver's speed using radarA separate Technical Memorandum includes the specifications for the regional ITS architecture. The ATMS Plan was developed by P B Farradyne, Incorporated in cooperation with Gresham Smith and Partners and Manual Padron Associates. The plan was developed with input from many stakeholders, and adopted by the ARTS Policy Committee on March 7, 2002. In 2013, the ARTS MPO updated the ATMS Plan.
