Annual Events

Augusta, Georgia is hosting many events throughout the year. Our Special Events office is located at the Augusta Common in Downtown Augusta and is responsible for the coordination of all Parks & Recreation events. In addition, the Special Events office coordinates and facilitates all special events located at the Augusta Riverwalk and the Augusta Common, and any major event Augusta partners with in Downtown Augusta.

January 14, 2023 - Martin Luther King Jr. Parade

The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade will take place on Saturday, January 14, 2023. The parade begins at 1:00 pm and will start at Dyess Park Community Center, located at 902 James Brown Blvd. The parade will proceed south on James Brown Blvd., then west onto Wrightsboro Road, north onto Augusta Ave., east onto Laney Walker Blvd., north onto 11th Street to Johnson Motors. If your organization would like to participate in the parade, please fill out the form and send the completed application to the Augusta branch of the NAACP before January 4, 2023.
