Local Emergency Planning Committee

The Richmond County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) includes elected local officials, law enforcement, fire, public health, environment, transportation, hospitals, facility representatives, and representatives from community groups and media as required by the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA). The Richmond County LEPC reviews the Augusta-Richmond County Local Emergency Operations Plan and provides information about chemicals in the community. All meetings are open to the public. The Richmond County LEPC elects a Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary/Treasurer every 2 years. Any voting member of LEPC is eligible to be elected to lead the LEPC. 

The Richmond County LEPC meets 4 times a year. The meetings are the 3rd Friday of the 2nd month of every quarter.
