Augusta, Georgia LGBTQ Liaison
The LGBTQ Liaison reports to the Mayor and Commission and serves as an accessible and friendly ear to the county’s LGBTQ community and elevates LGBTQ-related concerns to county administration and county officials.
The LGBTQ Liaison meets monthly with representatives of Equality Augusta to develop strategies of inclusion, non-discrimination, and non-harassment in Augusta, Georgia.
Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Municipal Equality Index
Augusta, Georgia is one of many communities in the State of Georgia that is evaluated by the Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index (MEI) for equality of municipal laws, policies, and services affecting the LGBTQ community.
Each year, Augusta, Georgia receives a scorecard to report inclusion progress for LGBTQ citizens.
