  2. August Transit Will be Closed in Observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday on January 17th.

    In observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, Augusta Transit fixed route, ADA/Paratransit, and Richmond County Transit Rural Service will be closed on Monday, January 17th, 2022.

  3. Due to operational circumstances, several routes will experience disruptions this week.

    The Washington Road and Augusta Mall routes will be experiencing reduced service this week due to operational circumstances. Click for specific times being affected.

Riding The Bus

  • Service Animals: Service Animals are permitted aboard Augusta Transit buses.
  • Smoking: Smoking on an Augusta Transit Bus is prohibited.
  • Food: Please do not bring or consume food or drink on any Augusta Transit bus.
  • Packages: When riding Augusta Transit after shopping, please note there is a limitation of three bags per person.
  • Courtesy Seating: The first aisle facing seats behind the driver are reserved for people with special needs such as the elderly and handicapped.
  • Stops: Arrive at the bus stop a few minutes before the bus is due to arrive. All bus stops are marked with AT bus stop signs.
  • Signaling:
    • To get on, signal the bus driver to stop as the bus approaches.
    • To get off, use the driver signal cords or bars above the windows on the bus in time for the bus to stop.
  • Payment: Please have exact fare ready when you board the bus. Drivers cannot make exact change.

Colleges & Universities

Local college and university students ride AT buses for free with a valid ID for the current quarter / semester from any of the following schools:


There is no service on Sundays or the following holidays:
  • New Year's Day
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Eve (close at 6pm)
  • Christmas Day
Holiday schedules are subject to change. Notices will always be posted on the buses, the transfer facility, and sent to the news media when Transit will be closed.

Transit Connections to and from Aiken County Transit
