The Starbucks Foundation has launched the "Upstanders Challenge," a contest which will award twenty-five (25) $25,000 grants to eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization as selected by a panel of judges from the top 40 "buzz getters."
It's easy to nominate your organization:
1. In a video (2 minutes or less), explain why your organization is an "Upstander" (i.e. how it creates positive change in the community). Use your phone -- simple, creative, fun and non-produced is best. Ask yourself, "Could this go viral?"
2. Upload your video at www.indi.com/starbucks/upstanders Follow the instructions to correctly nominate your organization. The first 200 eligible submitters will submitters will receive a $20 Starbucks eGift. You will receive an email from Indi when your video has been approved for posting, which could take up to 24 hours.
3. Once posted, tell your followers you've entered your favorite charity in a contest and encourage them to drive "buzz" for your charity by watching, liking and sharing the video in social. Remember, the sooner your video is submitted and approved, the more time you will have to generate buzz.
4. Organizations can have multiple videos -- encourage your supporters to upload their own videos. If your organization has a "famous" supporter, invite them to create a video on your organization's behalf.
Visit www.indi.com/starbucks/upstanders to view full contest rules, info on how to drive buzz and sample videos.
The contest ends Tuesday, October 31 at 11:59 p.m., Pacific Time, with winners announced by November 30, 2017.
