Out of Compliance Information

What happens when my Yard Waste is out-of-compliance?

  • No part or portion of the yard waste will be collected if it is determined out-of-compliance
  • An Out-of-Compliance hangtag will be left on the yard waste pile
  • An Out-of-Compliance Notice will be sent to the property owner’s mailing address and to the address of the violation.

What should I do if my Yard Waste is out-of-compliance?

The customer should correct the out-of-compliance yard waste issue by the next collection day.   If you correct the yard waste issue, you must wait until your next service day for removal by your weekly yard waste hauler.

If the yard waste still remains out-of-compliance at the curb on the next collection day, Augusta will attempt to collect it at a later date and the property owner will be charged additional fees for the removal.

WARNING:  If the out-of-compliance yard waste material continues to remain on the property or street for an extended period of time, Augusta may issue a citation for nuisance accumulation of debris.

If you receive a citation, please be advised that Augusta cannot guarantee a date for the removal of out-of-compliance yard waste.  In addition, Augusta may not be able to collect the yard waste if it is an ineligible material, or due to the size, weight, location of the out-of-compliance issue.  It is the property owner’s responsibility to remove the out-of-compliance yard waste as soon as possible.
