Holiday Schedule

Please note that the Solid Waste Facility does not observe all City or Federal Holidays. Below is a list of the holidays we do observe. If the holiday is on a week day and your service day falls on or after the holiday during the work week, your collection will be delayed one day. Monday service will be on Tuesday, Tuesday on Wednesday, etc., with Friday service on Saturday for that week only.

Extra Holiday Waste

On holidays observed by Augusta Environmental Services (New Years Day, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas) a customer may have extra waste they would like collected. Augusta Environmental Services will collect the extra holiday garbage for one collection cycle, starting the day after the holiday. The extra holiday waste needs to be placed in plastic bags and placed next to garbage cart for collection.  Augusta Environmental Services may collect the garbage with the garbage truck or the bulk waste truck, so it may not get collected on the first pass.

Extra Masters Waste

During the week prior to, the week of and the week after the Masters Golf Tournament, extra waste may be collected. The waste shall be placed in plastic bags and set out next to the garbage cart for collection.  Augusta Solid Waste may collect the garbage with the garbage truck or the bulk waste truck, so it may not get collected on the first pass.

Landfill Holiday Schedule

The Augusta Landfill is located at 4330 Deans Bridge Road.  Landfill hours of operation:

5:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday
6:00am – 12:00pm Saturday

The Landfill will be closed on the fllowing holidays:

• Memorial Day
• Fourth of July
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day
