Mrs. Janice Allen Jackson began her role as Administrator for the Augusta, GA Consolidated Government on November 17, 2014. During her career, Mrs. Jackson has acquired a vast array of knowledge while serving in such governmental appointed positions as General Manager in Mecklenburg County, NC, City Manager in Albany, GA, and Assistant City Manager also in Albany, GA. In addition, she is the founder and owner of a consulting firm, Janice Allen Jackson and Associates.
Over the years, she has been active in various civic and professional organizations which include the United Way, International and Georgia City-County Manager’s Associations, the Women’s National Book Association and the National Forum for Black Public Administrators just to name a few. She is a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and a Rotarian.
A native of Augusta, GA, Mrs. Jackson holds an undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and a graduate degree in Public Policy from Duke University.
She is the wife of Joe Jackson and the mother of Miles and Caroline Jackson.
