The public is invited to review and comment on the existing project list for the to 2050 ARTS Future Mobility Metropolitan Transportation Plan, which includes federally funded transportation projects, such as roads, bridges, public transit projects and grants, bicycle and pedestrian improvements, planned and implemented in the ARTS planning area.  The ARTS planning area covers the cities and towns in Richmond and Columbia Counties, GA. and Aiken and Edgefield Counties, SC.   

The projects being considered in the amendments to the Transportation Vision 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan and the amendments to the Draft FY 2017-2022 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Amendments can be viewed through the online interactive map. We welcome your thoughts about transportation improvements identified in these amendments. You can use the application in the map or the comment form to provide comments on recommended transportation projects proposed in the Draft FY 2017-2022 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Amendments.

ProjectTypes
Projects are programmed into four main tiers, described as follows:

  • Tier 1 - Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) FY 2017-2022, TIA (2013-2022) or TIA (2023-2032): projects currently receiving funding to move forward towards implementation (Year Range: 2017-2032).
  • Tier 2 – 2025-2034 Long Range Projects: projects planned to be funded between 2025 to 2034. These projects must move into the TIP to receive funding.
  • Tier 3 - 2035-2050 Long Range Projects: projects planned to be funded between 2035-2050.
  • Unfunded Priority Projects: projects that are not financially constrained. These projects may not have cost estimates in mind and may only have a basic concept in mind.

Clicking on a project line will provide you with information, including the Tier, Description, Scheduled Completion Date, and Estimated Cost. To leave a comment, click on the comment box located at the top of the project information pop-up.
