Mission Statement
The mission of the Accountability Court Alcohol & Drug Program is to confront the substance abuse issue underlying the repetitive pattern of offenders and to reduce recidivism through enhanced supervision, treatment, and individual accountability.Accountability Court Programs
Alcohol & Drug Court ProgramThe Richmond County State Court Alcohol & Drug Court Program (“Program”) is a treatment program for those who have been charged with the offense of Possession of Marijuana or minor/underage possession of alcohol.
There are five (5) required components to participate in the Alcohol & Drug Court Program:
- Treatment
- Submission to random home visits
- Random drug testing
- 24 hours of community service
- Attending court as directed
The Richmond County State Court DUI Court Program (“Program”) is a treatment program for those who have multiple violations of driving while under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants.
There are five (5) required components to participate in the DUI Court:
- Treatment
- Attending court as directed
- Submission to random home visits
- Random drug testing
- Attending AA or other self-help support group
The Mental Health Program is designed to treat persons who have been charged with an
offense of DUI or Possession of Marijuana where alcohol and/or drugs is the underlying factor and
have a confirmed mental illness. Participants are required to be enrolled and remain in compliance
in a state certified treatment program. Participants must attend court as directed and submit to
random alcohol/drug testing.
Veterans Court Program
This program are for those individuals who have served in the United States Armed forces and are
charged with a DUI and/or Possession of Marijuana offense.
