When to Call for a Mechanical Inspection
Mechanical Inspections
The following inspections should be requested according to the given rules:
Underground Inspection
After trenches or ditches are excavated
After the underground duct and fuel piping are installed
Before any backfill is put in place
Rough-In Inspection
After the roof, framing, fire blocking, and bracing are in place
After all ducting and other concealed components are complete
Before the installation of the wall or ceiling membranes
Mechanical Final
After the building is complete, the mechanical system is in place and properly connected, and the structure is ready for occupancy
