Congratulations To Julie Orwen with the Augusta Regional Airport .

The Employee Recognition Committee has selected Julie Orwen as the September 2004 Employee of the Month for the City of Augusta. She is an Administrative Assistant with the Augusta Regional Airport.

Julie was nominated by the Department Director Willis Boshears. She has worked for the City of Augusta for four and a half years. Mr. Boshears states in his nomination about her determination in getting the job done, no matter how difficult or complicated. She always maintains her composure and performs her duties in a professional manner. Her exemplary service has not gone unnoticed by her co-workers, who have awarded her the Aviator Bear of the Week several times. Julie is highly embraced by all of her co-workers because she always has time to help them, no matter what the task. When asked to comment on her nomination, this is what they had to say:

“Julie is the rock of the airport administration staff”

“Julie is the backbone of our department”

“Julie sets an example for all of us to aspire to”

The committee felt that based on Mr. Boshears’ recommendation and Ms. Orwen’s outstanding performance, she should be awarded Employee of the Month.

Ms. Orwen was awarded the Employee of the Month for September at the Augusta-Richmond County Commission Meeting on October 19, 2004.
