Employee of the Month - May 2007

Congratulations To Randy Blount

The Employee Recognition Committee has selected Randy Blount as the May 2007 Employee of the Month for the City of Augusta. Mr. Blount has been an employee with the City of Augusta for over 20 years. He currently works as the Operations Manager at the Hicks Water Treatment Plant.

Mr. Blount was nominated by fellow co-worker Carlton Wade.

Mr. Blount was nominated for his strong leadership by example and his unselfish devotion. Randy spent countless hours, meticulously developing and training personnel at the newly built Hicks plant. His hard work and dedication as Operational Manager resulted in the Hicks Plant receiving an “outstanding grade” in its first ever EPD inspection as well as earning its first Georgia Association of Water Professionals “Gold Award”.

The committee felt that based on this recommendation and Mr. Blount’s dedicated and loyal service to the City of Augusta, he was awarded the Employee of the Month for the month of May during the Commission meeting on June 19, 2007.
