Employee of the Month
Employee of the Month - August 2004
Congratulations To Olivia Mickalonis with the Trees and Landscape Division of Public Works.
The Employee Recognition Committee has selected Olivia Mickalonis, who is an Operations Manager with the Trees and Landscape Division of Public Works, as the Augusta 2004 Employee of the Month for the City of Augusta.
Ms. Mickalonis was nominated by fellow co-worker Jerry Murphy, who stated that Ms. Mickalonis has been instrumental in raising the morale of the workers at the Magnolia Cemetery; “her compassion and motivation is contagious.”
Ms. Mickalonis was recently interviewed by the Augusta Chronicle in an article that appeared in the Neighbors section of September 9th. The article addressed the diligence Ms. Mickalonis has for preserving the history of the Magnolia Cemetery. She treats each grave as though it is a member of her family. She gains the respect of her staff by working beside them cutting the grass, removing dead tree limbs and cleaning headstones. Her vision for the cemetery is of installing a global imaging system that will give an exact location of each grave, and possibly allow individuals to locate this information outline.
The Committee felt based on Mr. Murphy’s recommendation and Ms. Mickalonis’ attributes she should be awarded Employee of the Month.
Congratulations You Are Making A Difference In The City Of Augusta!
