Mayor Copenhaver, through the generosity of Radio One, is hosting his own monthly interview show. The shows can be heard on the following stations: Magic 96.9, Foxie 103.1, WTHB FM 100.9 Augusta Today and Tomorrow was devised as a way for Mayor Copenhaver to discuss topics which affect our community. It is a dynamic show with one or two guests. We thank the people at Radio One for giving Mayor Copenhaver this opportunity and we are thankful for the guests who are willing to come and express their views. The shows typically broadcast the first Sunday of the month. Please contact our office for more information.

Show Synopsis: Mayor Copenhaver’s guest was Ms. Sandra Wimberly, Health Educator with the Richmond County Health Department. Ms. Wimberly provides community education on sexually transmitted diseases, HIV/AIDS, Infection Control and other health concerns. Mayor Copenhaver and Ms. Wimberly discuss how HIV/AIDS has and is affecting our community and the best ways to address the disease, in particular with our children.

Show Synopsis: Mayor Copenhaver’s guest was Ms. Jackie Boatwright. Ms. Boatwright is an activist whose primary focus is helping others. She is currently working on a few projects; two main ones being a fundraiser for the Calloway family and promoting Juan’s law, which requires Day Care Centers to carry liability insurance. As Mayor Copenhaver and Mrs. Boatwright discussed, adversity will only make you stronger, use that to help others. Do not focus on the negative, speak out against the negative.

Show Synopsis: Mayor Copenhaver’s guest was Senator Ed Tarver. Both Senator Tarver and Mayor Copenhaver were instrumental in forming the Destination 2020 plan. Destination 2020 is a plan that details what we would like our community to look like in 2020 and how to get there.
