The Daniel Field Airport is owned by the City of Augusta. The General Aviation Commission is responsible for the operation of the airport.

The primary responsibility of the aviation commission is to operate and maintain the airport in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Federal Aviation Administration, Georgia Department of Transportation, and all local ordinances.
