Riding The Bus
  • Service Animals: Service Animals are permitted aboard Augusta Public Transit buses.
  • Smoking: Smoking on an Augusta Public Transit Bus is prohibited.
  • Food: Please do not bring food or drink on the bus.
  • Packages: When riding Augusta Public Transit after shopping, please note there is a limitation of three bags per person.
  • Courtesy Seating: The first aisle facing seats behind the driver are reserved for people with special needs such as the elderly and handicapped.
  • Stops: Arrive at the bus stop a few minutes before the bus is due to arrive. All bus stops are marked with APT bus stop signs.
  • Signaling:
    • To get on, signal the bus driver to stop as the bus approaches.
    • To get off, use the driver signal cords or bars above the windows on the bus in time for the bus to stop.
  • Payment: Please have exact fare ready when you board the bus. Drivers cannot make exact change.

Local college and university students ride APT buses for free with a valid ID for the current quarter / semester from any of the following schools:
