The ARTS (Augusta Regional Transportation Study) and Aiken County are working together to update the region’s bicycle and pedestrian plan to develop infrastructure and program recommendations to improve the walking and bicycling environment in the two-state metropolitan area. This comprehensive effort recognizes the various users of the transportation system including commuters, recreational users, and those without access to a personal vehicle. The plan update will focus on the development of a safe and attractive transportation system for all users and the implementation of programs to promote safe bicycling and walking throughout the region!
