Augusta's Going Green!

Welcome to the home of the Augusta Government “green” initiative! Augusta has created a “Living Green” committee that is responsible for identifying and sponsoring initiatives that help and inspire our elected officials, government employees, and our customers to look for ways to conserve resources.

Living Green

There are many opportunities available both externally and internally to the government for our community to embrace a more environmentally-conscious perspective. These opportunities range from technologically-intensive areas like printing, power consumption, process efficiency, and office automation to high-profile issues like fuel consumption, waste management, and pollution, to the more mundane, everyday tasks like recycling plastic bottles, motor oil, paper, and soft-drink cans.

Please view our electronic bulletins that will bring you news and information about opportunities for participating in environmentally-conscious activities as you go through your workday. Augusta greenWorks will focus on methods that we can all employ to contribute to these efforts, including the creation of “score cards” to show progress on our major initiatives. The newsletter will also include tools that you can use to educate yourself and become a more conservation-minded citizen of Augusta through better, smarter, greener use of technology, energy, transportation, paper, and household products. Help us to make Augusta a greener place to live!
