Friends of Pendleton

What Do the Friends Do?
Volunteers are an integral part of the success of PKP. Volunteers have developed, financed and planted the hydrangeas in the Hydrangea Garden, they maintain the Camellia Garden, the Azalea Walk, the Touch and Smell Sensory Garden and Pendleton’s Blue Garden. They are the reason we have new playgrounds, an improved disc golf course, children’s sculpture and music garden, this kiosk and a dog park. They weed, plant, prune, design and build. They organize events for the park such as the annual Plant Swap, Hydrangea Sale, Arbor Day and Bark Park events. They help with 5K runs and disc golf tournaments. They also raise funds for the park. They are the reason for the recent revitalization of this beautiful 64 acre park.

We invite you to join us and become a Friend of PKP. We work in the gardens on the first Thursday of the month, and we have many volunteer opportunities at other times of the year. If you would like to become a part of our volunteer efforts, contact Kay Bowman at (803) 279-9388 or email.
