The Law Enforcement Center was constructed in the middle 1980’s to house the Augusta Police Department, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, as well as courts and related officials, and was known as the Joint Law Enforcement Center. The building currently houses the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Jail Administration and booking operations.

The Augusta Recreation, Parks and Facilities is responsible for cleaning, maintaining and providing support operations for this facility.
