The Augusta Judicial Center and John H. Ruffin, Jr. Courthouse was completed in 2011 and was dedicated in April of that year. The building is named in honor of Hon. John H. Ruffin, Jr., the first African-American member of the Augusta Bar Association, the first African-American Superior Court Judge for the Augusta Judicial Circuit and the first African-American Chief Judge to serve on the Court of Appeals of Georgia.
All Court related functions, except Juvenile Court and the Public Defender are located in this Facility.
The Augusta Recreation, Parks and Facilities Department is responsible for cleaning, maintaining and providing support operations for this facility.
