Jim Irish has been a tennis pro since 1999. Prior to teaching tennis, Jim worked in sports journalism as a writer and editor for two daily newspapers in Texas for 18 years. He graduated in 2000 from the two-year Tennis Technology program at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas. He then worked for two years as an assistant pro at Willow Brook Country Club in Tyler.

He and his family moved to Augusta, Georgia in 2001 to take a position at West Lake Country Club. In 2005, he transferred to Newman Tennis Center. He is certified with the USPTA. Jim enjoys working with all students, young and old, who are eager to improve his/her skills.
