Excess Funds
Excess Funds are funds that are remaining after paying taxes, costs, and all expenses of a tax sale made by the Tax Commissioner. These funds are held in escrow and are available to the entitled parties in the order of priority in which their interest exists. Excess Funds are subject to priority claim by the mortgagee or security interest holder.
If you wish to submit a claim for such funds, you are required to make a written request to the Augusta Richmond County Tax Commissioner, using the form which may be downloaded in the below PDF or obtained from the office of the Tax Commissioner.
