The Office of the Solicitor General prosecutes cases exclusively in the State Court of Richmond County, Georgia. The State Court has jurisdiction over misdemeanor criminal offenses occurring in Richmond County, Georgia. Misdemeanor criminal offenses include, among others: Driving Under the Influence (DUI); theft of goods and services; marijuana possession of less than one ounce, battery including domestic violence, criminal trespass, hunting and fishing violations, and traffic violations. Most misdemeanor offenses have a maximum punishment of 12 months confinement and a maximum fine of $1,000.00.
Information about current case status may be obtained directly from the Clerk of Court (706) 821-1215 or from the Office of the Solicitor General at (706) 821-1220. Persons inquiring about the status of a case should have the following information ready when calling or inquiring in person:

Unless otherwise specified by notice sent from the Clerk of Court, Office of the State Court Judges, or the Office of the Solicitor General , Morning Court sessions generally begin at 8:30 a.m. and Afternoon sessions begin at 2:00 p.m. All Court sessions are in Courtroom I or II at the Joint Law Enforcement Center, unless otherwise specified. If your case is set for trial, your presence will be needed 30 minutes before the court session is scheduled to begin. Previously scheduled motion hearings and other specially set matters are not on this calendar. To be sure of your court date and location rely on the written notice sent to you.
