The Augusta Recreation & Parks Department with assistance from area law enforcement agencies, implemented the Augusta Boxing Association/Augusta Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) in an effort to curtail drug abuse and crime among the youth of Augusta. This program uses boxing as a tool to attract young people to build their confidence, develop self discipline, and learn to function as a team. By learning to function as a team, these students develop sportsmanship and experience the rewards of always striving to do their best. The program is preventative in nature as opposed to rehabilitative. The majority of the participants have had no prior contact with the court system.

Fees

There is no charge to participate in the program, however; you must be committed to following a strict code of conduct/character which includes behavior in the gym, at home, at school and in the community.
