Conducting Business with the City of Augusta

Doing business with Augusta has become easier! We are now mailing copies of bids on request by prospective vendor only. This means we are no longer requiring that you fill out a vendor registration form with the Augusta Procurement Department. We continue to advertise for bids in our local area newspapers: Augusta Chronicle, Augusta Focus and Metro Courier. You can either contact us direct at (706) 821-2422 for a copy of the bid package or you may also verify the list of active bids on our web site. The following is the procedure to verify the active bids on line. Once you are at the Augusta web site, click on the “on line bids” tab and then select “click to continue to www.demandstar.com/supplier". This will take you to the City of Augusta bid page. On this page you will find several drop-down options (option of selecting active bids, awarded, etc.). Select the active bids to see bids that are currently open.

You may subscribe to the Demand Star service which will allow you to receive automatic notification of upcoming bids as they are issued. Please call toll-free 1-800-711-1712 or visit www.demandstar.com for more information.

Tips on doing business with the city of Augusta

  1. Read the bid documents thoroughly and follow all instructions, terms, and conditions. Failure to do so will be at the bidder’s risk.
  2. Be sure bid is submitted on or before the receive date and time. Be sure the envelope shows the bid number and opening date.
  3. Attend all mandatory pre-bid meetings and site visits. Failure to do so disqualifies your firm from the bid process.
  4. Ask questions.

Vendor Registration Changes

If you are already a registered vendor with the City of Augusta and need to make changes to your vendor registration (i.e. address changes, add or delete commodity class/subclass), please send changes by mail or fax (use business letterhead). Include with the requested change(s): your business name, address, phone, and vendor ID number (FEIN number).
