Augusta-Richmond County Planning Commission

The Augusta-Richmond County Planning Commission is a twelve-member board authorized under Title Eight of the Augusta-Richmond County Code. The basic responsibilities of the Planning Commission include:

Regulating the subdivision of land
Planning for the orderly growth and development of Augusta-Richmond County
Zoning all land into various use classifications

The regular meeting of the Planning Commission is held at 3:00 PM on the first Monday of each month in Room 803 of the Municipal Building , 530 Greene Street , Augusta , Georgia . A typical meeting agenda includes rezoning petitions, subdivision plats and site plans, review of ongoing planning studies and general administrative items.

The Planning Commission employs an Executive Director and other personnel to complete a variety of planning and administrative activities.
