Neighborhood Enhancement Plan Of Action

CURRENTLY
We are the managing body for the Weed and Seed concepts in the Barton Village
and Turpin Hill-Bethlehem Communities, which has developed strategies that
is working to improve the quality of life in these area of Richmond County.
Although, the Barton Village is no longer a federally funded site, we still
provide the following services:
- Conduct youth and adult educational programs such as the After-School
Tutorial and Kidz Café.
- Provide free recreational activities such as:
- Free summer camp
- Provide Fees for low income students to participate in County
Recreation department activities such as basketball and etc.
- We are open for the children when school is not session.
- We instill self-esteem by awarding children with bicycles
for good grades and behavior.
- Work with law enforcement in identifying and measuring problems
- Work with neighborhood residents and associations in community
for improvement project.
- We operate community “Safe haven” for community
services.
- Assist neighborhood residents in find employment
- We assist other organizations in providing services such as:
- Good works program,
- AARP,
- Arbor Education and Training,
- JTA (Summer Job Youth Program)
- Daughters of Ester
- Omega Psi Phi Mentoring Program
- Sigma Phi Beta Etiquette Program
- Work with the U.S. Attorneys
