Paint Improvement

THE PAINT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

The Paint Improvement Program is designed to assist homeowners and owners of rental property (single family dwellings or duplexes only) improve the appearance and protect the exterior of their property. The applicant is responsible for applying the paint.

Criteria:

Live within Augusta-Richmond County
Own the property being painted
Meet the maximum income requirements

Owner’s Responsibilities:

Agree to make any repairs to damaged structural components and to prepare the surface for painting
Provide all required labor to make repairs, prepare the surface and paint the dwelling
The painting must begin within (3) months of receipt of the paint voucher and must be completed within six (6) months.

The Housing & Economic Development Department will provide free of charge the following materials:

Paint Primer, finish paint (latex or oil-based); trim paint, floor & deck enamel
Caulk for sealing openings and cracks around windows and doors
Tools, brushes, rollers, tray, paint scraper and 5-in-1 tool
