NEIGHBORHOOD MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM

Purpose of the Program

The purpose of the Neighborhood Matching Grant Program is to provide matching grant funds to established neighborhood associations to carry out projects that will beautify and enhance their neighborhoods so that it will become a better place to live, work, play and shop. Neighborhood associations must match the grant 100%.

Project Categories

  1. NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENTS – includes physical improvement projects
    such as community gardens, neighborhood signs, playgrounds, trash cans, benches, &neighborhood clean-ups.
  2. CRIME & PUBLIC SAFETY – projects that reduce crime or increase public safety
    such as signs for neighborhood crime watch programs, drug awareness programs & fire safety programs.

Eligible Neighborhoods

Bethlehem – Laney Walker – Turpin Hill – May Park – Olde Town – Harrisburg – West End – Sand Hills – Albion Acres and other low income neighborhoods of Augusta-Richmond County.
