Lt. Jenkins and Sgt. George Maddox (no picture) split the honors for Fireman of the Year for 2005
These are pictures of Lt. Ralph Jenkins, who with the help of Sgt Herbert Smith and FF Michael Hooker, talked a patient at MCG off a ledge and back to safety. For the successful rescue of the patient, his conduct above and beyond the line of duty, and his day to day professionalism, Lt. Ralph Jenkins is the 2005 Employee of the Year.



Happy Holidays to Doctor's Hospital Burn Unit From CSRA FCU & Engine Co. # 15
Last Thursday, December 9, 2004, CSRA Federal Credit Union (CSRA FCU) staffers
along with Augusta Richmond County Firefighters Engine Co. # 15 visited the
Doctor's Hospital Burn Unit to deliver teddy bears to children who had fallen
victim to fire. Visitors included: CSRA FCU's :Charm McCall, Leah Eldridge,
Brian Levins, Dawn Matthews, Karla
McCormack and Claudia Lyle. Engine Co. # 15's: Jeff Carter, Brian
Dozier, Lynn Masters, Mark Johnson, Octavius Davis and Mike Hooker. Also pictured:

Battalion Chief Otis Spence Retiring after 45+ years of service
Battalion Chief Otis Spence became a volunteer firefighter in 1957, in 1959
he joined the paid department as a private, and was promoted to driver six
(6) months later.
1962 - he was promoted to Lieutenant
1972- he was promoted to Captain
1975 – he was promoted to Battalion Chief in the Training Division
1996 – he was assigned to Battalion Chief in Suppression after consolidation
in 1996
June 30, 2004 he retired after 45+ years of service with the Augusta Fire Department

Firefighter Luis Gonzalez
Firefighter Gonzalez received recognition on (July 8) and received the commendation from the Mayor, Commissioners, and Chief Al Gillespie for his heroic service on Friday, June 11, 2004 when he called to assist in a tragic emergency situation and served as a translator for a spanish speaking victim. He assisted the ambulance personnel and the Medical College of Georgia Emergency Department serving as the translator for the victim and the victim’s family members.
