Augusta-Richmond County Organizational EEO Statement
It is the policy of Augusta-Richmond County to provide equal employment opportunity to all qualified employees and applicants for employment and not to discriminate on any basis prohibited by law, including race, color, sex, pregnancy status, marital status, national origin, age, religion, disability and veteran’s status. The EEO Office
The EEO Office facilitates inclusion and equal opportunity for Augusta-Richmond County Employees under the guidelines of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended (Title VII), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended (Section 504), and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). In addition, the office conducts individual, departmental and systemic inquiries in relation to Title VII, Section 504 and the ADA. A major objective of the office is to promote the expansion of organizational diversity. The office also serves as a consulting resource for employees, the Mayor and the Augusta-Richmond County Commission.
Jurisdiction
The internal Augusta-Richmond County EEO Office covers employees and departments in the Augusta-Richmond County government operating under the authority of the Mayor and the Commission.
Job Accommodations Network (JAN) for Employees With Disabilities
The Federal Government sponsors a free consulting service for people with disabilities. JAN is designed to increase the employability of people with disabilities by: 1) providing individualized work site accommodations or solutions, 2) providing technical assistance regarding the ADA and other disability related legislation, and 3) educating callers about self-employment options.
