Lifeguards and Employment Opportunities

The Augusta Aquatics Center is continually looking for enthusiastic lifeguards, experienced swim instructors and aqua fitness instructors.

Qualifications for the Augusta Aquatics Center

Physical Qualifications for the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

Must be able to swim 500 yards continually using a variety of different strokes
Swim 20 yards using the front crawl or breaststroke
Surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object. (When returning to the starting point, the candidate must hold the brick with both hands and keep his/her face above the water)
