911 Employment

Employment Process:

It is the intent of the Augusta-Richmond County 9-1-1 Center to attract qualified applicants and will adhere to all approved recruiting purposes to help achieve this goal.

Application Process:

All applications will be obtained and submitted through the Augusta-Richmond County Human Resources Department in accordance with current policy. Copies of the aforementioned documents will be provided to the Director of the Augusta-Richmond County 911 Center.

All applicants will be reviewed

A background investigation completed using criminal history, driving record and previous employer statements and information.

Background investigation

Applicants determined eligible upon conclusion of the background investigation will be scheduled for an interview with members of the Supervisory Staff of the Augusta-Richmond County 911 Center.

Pre-employment examination

Applicants chosen from the interview will be given a pre-employment examination that the applicant must pass.

Upon successfully completing all phases of this process the applicant will be considered for employment with the Augusta-Richmond County 911 Center after completion of physical examinations and drug screens as established under the Augusta-Richmond County Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual. (Due to the nature of the job, each physical will include a hearing test.)
