Charles B. Webster Detention Center Facilities Maintenance
Operations are not open to the Public.
The Charles B. Webster Detention Center was completed in 1997 to increase the capacity of the Augusta Sheriff’s Office to house people awaiting trial as well as those that have already had their day in court. An expansion project was completed in late 2011 which increased the inmate capacity with the goal of moving all detention, booking and jail administration operations to this site. The next phase of this expansion will commence in 2012 and, with completion of new administrative offices for the Sheriff, will permit closure of the RCSO on Walton Way.
The Augusta Recreation, Parks and Facilities Department is responsible for maintaining and providing support operations for this facility.
